International Stars Section will be hosting a Defensive Driving and Autocross at the Compuware Sports Arena parking lot, located at 14900 North Beck Road, Plymouth, MI 48170-2413. This is just down the road from the Inn at St. John where the Concours D'Elegance will be held on Sunday. Cost: $30 by July 22, 2011. Day of event $40 CASH - correct change please. Includes lunch. Porta-johns on site. Starting at 8 AM. Depending on attendance, we may run two full courses - Defensive Driving and Autocross. Loaner helmets will be available.
Sunday July 31st
This once in a lifetime event will celebrate Mercedes-Benz 125th Anniversary. We will be able to park on the St. John’s Inn golf course in a special parking area next to both the Mercedes-Benz Financial Services (MBFS) employee parking and the Concours d’Elegance show field. Cars will be selected from the advanced entries and will be placed in a special viewing area.This elegant event will be very special.
The National Board of the MBCA supports the spirit of this event both financially as well as the enthusiastic unanimous vote of support at our last spring board meeting.
We still have a number of details to work out. Right now it looks like we will be able to park in a special area for certain “selected” significant Mercedes-Benz historic vehicles that you would provide. If your car is not selected to park in the MBFS special display area, you will be able to park in with the general special employee parking area adjacent to the Concours d’Elegance show field. You need to sign up in advance to get a pass to be allowed to park in the MBFS general parking area. Non MB vehicles will have to park in the general admisssion parking lots. MB cars that are of a lesser quality will be directed to park in the rear of the MBFS parking area.
MBCA will have a tent on the show field across from the Concours d’Elegance grouping of 125 years of Mercedes-Benz. We will be the ambassadors for our club. (This means we need your help… We need you to join us in the tent for a short stint to help us with being those ambassadors.) Indicate on your application form that you will help us.
This is great news! Come and join us at this event. It’s going to be a “hum-dinger”. Don’t be left out!

We have the direct registration information from the Marriott Towne Place Hotel for you. The links below will direct you to their web page where you can register for the rooms. Initially, there are 15 rooms reserved at the prices listed below. If there are more of us who wish to stay at this hotel we can increase the 15 rooms. (More is better.) We will follow up with the hotel weekly to make adjustments to the number of rooms. The rates are good from Friday July 29 - Sunday July 31.
When you get to their web page, scan down the left column (in red) and you will see the room type code. This is what you fill in to get the rate.Each room has a kitchenette. Continental Breakfast is served daily. There is an outdoor pool. (The rates do not include applicable taxes.)
